The growing season is just about to start, bud burst has already taken place for some species. Farmers will no doubt be looking at Ash trees in hedgerows to see if they come into leaf this year. Forest owners with Ash plantations will be doing likewise.
Unfortunately, most of the Ash across the country is now infected with Ash dieback. This means most of the trees are either dying, dead or rotten and as such are very dangerous. No one should consider cutting such trees with a chainsaw. Our advice is to be careful and don’t take shortcuts.
